The society is looking forward to welcoming Laura Scott, Taidhg Dalton and Edel Conway to the Black Mills for our July session!
Laura Scott is a singer from Borris-in-Ossory, she also plays fiddle, guitar and is an accomplished harpist. Growing up in a musical family, she is a two-time All-Ireland Fleadh Ceoil Singing Champion. Laura has a passion for traditional Irish music and song and enjoys teaching and sharing songs and tunes. Laura is delighted to perform at the Blackmills with her friends.
Joining Laura is Taidhg Dalton, a talented bodhrán, guitar and flute player from thePike of Rushall. Taidhg has earned numerous All Ireland titles at Fleadh Ceoil nahÉireann, establishing himself as one of the region’s outstanding traditional musicians.
Also performing is Edel Conway, a concertina player and singer from Clonaslee. Raised in a rich tradition of Irish music, Edel has developed a deep love and appreciation for the music and song of her heritage, bringing warmth and authenticityto every performance.
Together, this extremely talented trio have performed at a wide range of prestigious festivals and events, including Electric Picnic, Fleadh Cheoil, Forest Fest, the Siansa Gael Linn Competition, Ballyshannon Folk Festival, the Patrick O’Keeffe Festival inCastleisland, Creative Connections in Sitges, Glenties Harvest Fair, and many more.
Their performances combine exceptional musicianship, beautiful harmonies, and agenuine love of Ireland’s rich musical tradition, creating an engaging and memorable experience for audiences of all ages.
Laura will perform a range of songs from the old favourite ballads to modern folksongs. The group will liven the evening with a repertoire of jigs and reels too!
